Life is different when you’re a fulltime trader.

And one of the things that changes is what you stop buying. 

Most people start trading because they want to buy more things… I was like that too.

But now that I’m a stay-at-home day trader… I buy less things.

In this video, I'm gonna go over the 6 things that I no longer need to buy.

The first thing I don’t buy anymore is 

Before I became a stay-at-home trader… I had to drive in Los Angeles traffic to get to my job.

And let me tell you… LA traffic is even worse than what people tell you. 

For me, one of the most unpleasant aspects of having a 9-to-5 job was driving to work.

It’s such a waste of time and it’s super dangerous. 
Imagine you’re constantly competing for who can get to the fast lane quicker, 

And sitting in traffic can add a lot of extra hours to your work day.

You better believe I don’t drive in rush hour traffic anymore.

Thanks to trading, I can work remotely… anywhere in the world.

From  Lake Tahoe mountains of Northern California, Las Vegas desert, even trading on the beach with beautiful white sand Cancun, Mexico… watching my family swim in the crystal blue water, there’s Miami, New York and i can list more and more places that I’ve got a chance to work or be productive in the last 6 months. 

This is all possible because the only thing you need to trade is an internet connection and a laptop.

The second thing I don’t need to buy anymore is…

Working a 9-to-5 corporate job forced me into a dress code.

I had to spend a lot of my salary on business casual clothes.

I’m talking the whole outfit. The dry cleaner fees that come along with it. 

Multiple dress shirts for every day of the week.

And a whole bunch of neck ties to go along with all of it.

The amount of time I had to spend putting my outfit together just added on to my work hours.

But now that I’m a stay-at-home day trader… I don’t have to buy any expensive clothes anymore.

These days, I literally walk around in a muscle shirt and basketball shorts while I make more money than my salary ever gave me.

Now that’s what I call dressing for success!

I have nobody to impress, and I don’t have to keep up appearances with coworkers.

How many times have you stopped at Starbucks for a quick coffee before work?

Or, how often do you drop by the fast food place around the corner for your lunch break?

Look, you can’t blame yourself for eating out in the middle of a busy work day.

It’s quick, convenient, and keeps you energized.

But now that I don’t have to go to work anymore… I realize that I basically never eat out anymore.

Every single morning, I wake up to the smell of the best home-made breakfast you’ll ever eat!

Not to mention, Vietnamese-style drip coffee beats a Starbucks latte any day of the week.

That’s what trading is all about for me.

I don’t have to rush to eat anymore, so I no longer spend money on fast food.

Sure, I’ll take the family out to a nice dinner on special occasions… 

But as far as I’m concerned, the most special part of my day is cooking with my wife and kids.

The fourth item on the list of things I don’t buy anymore are…

I studied Chemical Engineering as my undergraduate university major… 

My college buddies and I were hardcore Call of Duty gamers.

We would spend 8 hours per night playing Call of Duty.

There were many days where we only slept for 1 or 2 hours…  

…and then woke up exhausted to go take our engineering exams.

Oh, the things we do when we’re young, right?

Those are still some of my favorite memories.

Well, I don’t play video games anymore… but I still feel like a gamer.

I just replaced the Xbox with my trading platform.

The stock charts are now my new “video games” and I love it.

Because video games don’t pay the bills… but trading does.

The best part is, just like video games, I’m still a part of an online community.

My fellow traders are my new “gamer friends” and together we’re flushing out the stock market for as much opportunity as possible!

Not only did I stop buying video games… I also stopped buying…

How many people do you know that have multiple streaming services like this?

It’s a huge monthly expense, and I got rid of it completely when I started trading.

But I still have access to streaming services.
You see, I got savvier with my finances… even down to the tv shows my kids watch.

Instead of paying separately for everything..

I just got an all-inclusive cell phone plan for the business of trading, of course the same internet that provides me that includes Hulu, Disney+, ESPN< Apple Arcade, and Apple Music - all paid for.

I like to say this is one of the benefits of trading - you get good at spotting great deals!

Now I’m getting the shows that I used to pay for, for free.

And finally, the last thing I stopped buying once I became a stay-at-home trader are…

You wouldn’t believe how much money I spent on all these services.

I thought they would bring me the best alerts, signals, and market analysis that money could buy.

Well guess what… they didn’t. Zack’s number one pick turning into a negative PL, Benzinga alerts didn’t quite work out the way I wanted either. That’s because I was buying and selling blindy from the signals. 

And now that I’ve mastered technical analysis… I'm now my own financial service provider. well I bet I could provide much more useful information for the ordinary trader.

Six Things I Don’t Buy Anymore Now That I’m a Fulltime Trader

Have you wondered how many stocks you should own in your long-term portfolio? Read a couple of articles online, and they might tell you to hold 30 or even up to 60 stocks. 

But famous investors like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger have different ideas.

If you just started trading a few months ago, then make sure you do these three things.

Because truth be told, the reason most traders lose money is because they don’t follow these three fundamental trading principles.

If you simply do these three things, you’ll be more prepared than 90% of the retail traders out there today. 

That’s why today, I’m breaking down the basics. 

I’m going to review the top 3 fundamental trading tips that every beginner needs to know.

Fundamental Trading Tip #1: Define your goals

The very first thing you need to do is know your goals.

Do you want to create daily income with your trading… or do you want to buy and hold for a long time?

Make sure your goals are realistic and feasible.

For example, if you want to create daily income, do you have the time to spend every morning 9:30AM ET to day trade?

If you have a fulltime job that won’t let you trade like that, then you’ll have to swing trade instead.

Not only that… you’ve also got to think about how long you want to trade.

If you’re day trading, you’ll have to spend two hours per day every morning trading the market.

Swing traders can get away with two horus per trading every few weeks.

But either way, you’ve got to consider how much time you’re willing to spend on your trading.

It’s perfectly okay to decide you’d rather be lazy and swing trade instead of day trade.

It all depends on your lifestyle and your personal preferences.

After you’ve nailed down your goals, you can move on to the next tip.

Fundamental Trading Tip #2: Know your risk tolerance

Do you want something that’s high-risk-high-reward, or do you want something more conservative?

Your risk tolerance will be based on your goals, which is why it comes second.

If you’re simply trying to build a retirement portfolio, your risk tolerance would be low because you don’t want much fluctuation.

But since your risk is low, your reward is also lower… but this would be okay if you don’t plan on touching your retirement portfolio for another few decades.

However, if you want to make as much income as possible from the stock market, you’d have a higher risk tolerance.

It’s anyone’s guess whether the markets are going to move from bear territory into a full-blown recession…

Economists are split, with some headlines claiming a recession isn’t in the cards, while others are ringing the alarm.

But either way, there are still opportunities to make money in the markets.

Grocery stores will continue to bring in customers as the economy contracts and prices rise thanks to spiking inflation. After all, people still need food, household goods, and other staples

Founded in 1883, The Kroger Co. (KR) has been in business for 139 years.

It ranks #17 on the Fortune 500 rankings of the largest US corporations in total revenue, and is the 3rd largest general retailer on the planet.

KR makes a whopping $137 billion in annual revenue.

During the 2007-2008 financial crisis, this company went on a buying spree.

They acquired Scott’s Food & Pharmacy, as well as 20 different locations from their competitors. 
Not to mention, while other stocks were falling, KR rose 10% from 2007 to 2008.

If history repeats itself, KR will be a good stock to own.

Ever since April, shares have been down 21.7%, meaning right now could be a good time to add KR to your portfolio.

The second company on the list is Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST).

Although it’s the youngest company on the list, founded in 1983, Costco is #10 on the Fortune 500 ranking of the largest US corporations by total revenue.

It’s also the 5th largest retailer in the world…

The world’s largest retailer of choice and prime beef…

The world’s largest retailer of organic foods…

The world’s largest retailer of rotisserie chicken…

And the world’s largest retailer of wine.

That’s a whole lotta world’s largest for one company.

Not to mention, Costco is known for its high-quality products and discount prices - and is committed to keeping prices as low as possible during inflation.

Its famous hot dog combo - served at every store - is a great example.

Despite rising inflation rates, in 1985 Costco president Craig Jelinek refused to raise the price, saying, “If you raise the effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out.”

To this day, a hot dog + soda combo at Costco is just $1.50. And the company has confirmed it will stay that way in 2022.

COST has lost as much as 38% of its value in 2022, meaning this multi-industry powerhouse is currently trading at a big discount.

Last but not least is Walmart Inc. (WMT).

Founded in 1945, today Walmart boasts a gigantic $571 billion in annual revenue.

It is the world’s largest company by revenue, as well as the world’s largest private employer - with 2.2 million employees.

It’s currently trading at levels we haven’t seen in two years.

Considering that WMT is the largest corporation on Earth, it may be highly profitable to buy shares at these two-year-low prices.

There you have it, the top three grocery stocks to buy during a recession.

All three are respected industry titans who have prospered throughout every single recession in the past three decades.
